Human Resource Development and its importance

Today in change scenario, Human Resource is needed to be developed as per change in external environment of the organization.HRD helps to adapt such changes through the development of existing human resources in terms of skills and knowledge.HRD creates opportunities for career development. HRD is an essential subject everywhere, be it a manufacturing organization or service sector industry.HRD is multi disciplinary subject which draws inputs from behavioral science, engineering, commerce, management, economic, medicines etc. According to south Pacific Commission Human Resource Development is equipping people with relevant skills to have a healthy and satisfy life.HRD is needed by any organization that wants to be dynamic and growth oriented or to succeed in a fast-changing environment. Organization can become dynamic and growth only through the efforts and competencies on their human resources. personal policies can keep the morale and motivation of employees high, but these efforts are not enough to make the organization dynamic and take it in new direction. Employee’s capabilities must continuously be acquired, sharpened and used. For this purpose am enabling organizational culture is essential. Even an organization that has reached its limits of growth needs to adapt to the changing environment. No organization is immune to the need for processes that help to acquire and increase its capabilities for stability and renewal.HRD makes people more competent and committed for concern organization.
HRD is learning from experience leading to systematic and purposeful development of the whole person, body, mind and spirit.HRD is integrated use of training organizational and career development efforts to improve individual, group and organizational effectiveness.HRD focuses on akk round development of human resources. According to American Society for Training and Development, HRD is process of increasing the capacity of the human resources through development. It is thus the process of adding value to individual, team or an organization as a human system.HRD is a systematic and planned approach through which the efficiency of employees is improved.HRD is learning through job rotation, job enrichment, social and religious interaction and programmes. HRD has several objectives likes;
Work Opportunity: HRD provides an opportunity and a systematic framework for the development resource in the organization for full expression of their talents.
Development of Traits: HRD is associated with the development of total personality so that these can show and use their talent for the benefit of the organization.
Ability development: HRD makes capable employees. Thus they can develop their capability by which they can do their present job easily.
Creative Motivation: HRD manager motivates employees and improve their level of performance.
Good Relation: HRD manager stresses the need of coordination which is used for the benefits of himself and for the benefits of those who come in his/their touch.
Develop team spirit: HRD manager develops the spirit of teamwork; team work for it is used for the effective cooperation and coordination of each employee which ultimately checks industrial unrest.
Organisational Growth: HRM manager is responsible for developing health, culture and effective work plan which always result in more profitability.
Human Resource Information: HRM manager in general keeps all records to employees working in his organisation; these can be used at any time when these are needed.
HRD fostering long-term work related learning capacity at individual, group and organizational level. Association of all the objective of HRD is deals with Equity, Employability and Adaptability.
- Equity is recognizing every employees at par irrespective of caste, creed, religion and language, can create a very good environment in organization in interest for development of employees, organization and nation.HRD ensure that organization creates a culture and provides equal opportunities to all employees without any difference in matter of career development, promotion, quality of work life, training and development. This cultured environment will helpful for all round development of organization and human resources.
-Employability is indicating the ability, skills and competencies of an individual to seek gainful/suitable employment.HRD should aim at improving the skills of employees in order to motivate them to work with effectiveness in interest of organization and their bright future.
-Adaptability is continuous training that develops the professional skills of employee’s plays an important and responsible role in HRD. Adaptability can help the employees to adapt themselves to organizational change that take place on a continuous basis.
The organizational effectiveness can be reflected through better quality, higher productivity, cost reduction, higher profits and more market price of shares. This explains the increased role of HRD managers in modern industrial organizations which are working in the most uncertain social, political, economical, technological and international complex and competitive environment. Now, importance of HRD is an essential & pervasive subject for manufacturing organization or service sector industry as well as employees.
