Many of us have heard the tragic news, and many more will wake up to hear it today.

The "brave" girl is living no more. We all will feel sad, some will choke, and some will

cry ... but for us all, invariably, soon there will be new news, new events ( personal,

social, political), and we are apt to forget the gravity and the plight of the similar

"brave" girls and the "brave" children who might become a prey. Time heals, and

time also makes us forget what we should not forget .. tragedies of this kind... just

as we are not affected by dear Malala as much any more, in matter of just weeks.

Friends,

(i) can we earmark 29 th of each month ( 28th in Feb) to remember these

"brave" women and ""brave" children,

(ii) consciously pray for them. By "consciously", I mean, in addition to prayer,

feeling their pain and having the fire to want to do something

for them .. by keeping the subject alive, politically and socially,

for a massive social change. Each of us can do something in this regard.

(iii) the new year is about to usher, but with this backdrop? The backdrop

was the same every new year, only the "brave" girl was not in the news,

and therefore, not in our thoughts. As tribute to the "brave" girl, for those

who feel o.k. to accept it, I propose for them to not participate in any

New Year celebration of any kind, and let the prayers for the "brave" (in the

biggest temple... our heart-center) usher the new year.

(iv) Please add to it any other ideas you may have, especially on how to keep

the movement alive for political and social change in this regard.

Sad about the world that I am co-creator of,

Vijay Nikore
